Robert Peterson, Esq. Robert D. Peterson Law Corporation, founded in 1978, represents more employers in proceedings before the Cal/OSHA Appeals Board than any other law firm in the state of California. The representation extends throughout the state and includes employers in every type of business.

Joel Cohen, MPH, CIH Joel Cohen is founder and president of The Cohen Group, a company that has provided a complete range of occupational health and safety consulting services to business and government since 1980. Mr. Cohen has more than 30 years of experience assisting employers.

Barbara Miller, Esq. Barbara E. Miller presently serves as a Commissioner and Vice-Chair of the City of Los Angeles Employee Relations Board. She is also a mediator and arbitrator, and conducts training on hearing preparation and alternative dispute resolution. She has served as a Labor and Employment lawyer, as Presiding Administrative Law Judge for the Occupational Safety Health and Appeals Board, as an ALJ with the Public Employment Relations Board and the State Personnel Board, and as a member of the Executive Committee of the Labor and Employment Law section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association.

Cal/OSHA District and/or Regional Managers will make presentations and answer questions at every seminar site.

For Contractors Only 6:30 to 8:30 a.m.

This Two-Hour “Nuts and Bolts” Discussion is intended to provide basic information to the construction industry regarding the role of Cal/OSHA and includes a discussion of certain rules and regulations which affect every construction jobsite. It is designed for those individuals with construction jobsite management responsibilities.

Lead persons, forepersons, superintendents, safety personnel.

  • What will occur during a Cal/OSHA inspection and the consequences of their own actions when dealing with an inspection.
  • What actions to take upon discovery of an unsafe condition.
